Early Hard X-Rays from the Nearby Core-collapse Supernova SN 2023ixf

چکیده

We present NuSTAR observations of the nearby SN 2023ixf in M101 (d=6.9 Mpc) which provide earliest hard X-ray detection a non-relativistic stellar explosion to date at $\delta t\approx$4-d and t\approx$11-d. The spectra are well described by hot thermal bremsstrahlung continuum with $T>25 \rm{keV}$ shining through thick neutral medium hydrogen column that decreases time (initial $N_{\rm{Hint}}=2.6\times 10^{23} \rm{cm^{-2}}$). A prominent Fe K$\alpha$ emission line is clearly detected, similar other strongly interacting SNe such as SN2020jl. rapidly decreasing intrinsic absorption suggests presence dense but confined circumstellar (CSM). absorbed broadband luminosity (0.3--79 keV) $L_{X} \approx 2.5 \times 10^{40}$ erg s$^{-1}$ during both epochs, increase overall flux related decrease absorbing column. Interpreting these context radiation originating from interaction shock we infer large particle densities excess $n_{\rm{CSM}}\approx 4\times 10^{8} \rm{cm^{-3}}$ $r<10^{15} \rm{cm}$, corresponding an enhanced progenitor mass-loss rate $\dot M 3\times 10^{-4}$ M$_{\odot}$ yr$^{-1}$ for assumed wind velocity $v_w=50$ km s$^{-1}$.

SN 1994W: a Type IIn Supernova without Core Collapse?

We present a multi-epoch quantitative spectroscopic analysis of the Type IIn SN 1994W, an event interpreted by Chugai et al. as stemming from the interaction between the ejecta of a SN and a 0.4 M⊙ circumstellar shell ejected 1.5 yr before core collapse. During the brightening phase, our models suggest that the source of optical radiation is not unique, perhaps associated with an inner opticall...

X-rays from Supernova Remnants

A summary of X-ray observations of supernova remnants is presented including the explosion fragment A of the Vela SNR, Tycho, N132D, RX J08524622, the Crab Nebula and the ’bulls eye’, and SN 1987A, high-lighting the progress made with Chandra and XMMNewton and touching upon the questions which arise from these observations and which might inspire future research.

The Status of Core-collapse Supernova Simulations

Core-collapse supernovae can be used to place limits on dark matter candidate particles, but the strength of these limits depends on the depth of our theoretical understanding of these astrophysical events. To date, limitations on computing power have prevented inclusion of all the physics that would constitute a realistic simulation. The TeraScale Supernova Initiative (TSI) will overcome these...

N ov 2 00 6 Nearby Supernova Factory Observations of SN 2006 D : On Sporadic Carbon Signatures in Early Type Ia Supernova Spectra The Nearby Supernova Factory

We present four spectra of the Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) 2006D extending from −7 to +13 days with respect to B-band maximum. The spectra include the strongest signature of unburned material at photospheric velocities observed in a SN Ia to date. The earliest spectrum exhibits C II absorption features below 14,000 km s, including a distinctive C II λ6580 absorption feature. The carbon signatures...

Effect of nearby supernova remnants to the local Cosmic-Rays

The effect of different particle release time from the sources to the cosmic-ray (CR) spectrum below 10eV in the Galaxy are studied in detail. We discuss different possible forms of particle injection like the burst-like injection, continuous injection for a finite time, injection from a stationary source and energy dependent injection. When applied to the nearby known supernova remnants, it is...
